US East Coast Travelogue 2 - New York. Lights, Camera, Action!! New York!! City of Dreams, money, power, towers, icons, diversity, languages, cultures!! No matter what corner of world you are but you must have heard about New York. City is always in news for one reason or another. Shared are my experiences from visit to New York! It’s been 2 weeks but it feels as if we were there yesterday. We started our journey to New York from Los Angeles, the Hollywood city. It took 5 hrs 30 mins of flight time to reach JFK, i was a bit anxious about how would we manage travel that night after a long day flight, Caption of flight announced our landing and wished everyone on-board a happy journey.. exactly what we were there for. Indian Olympic Sports Updates | Week June 24, 2017 Badminton Updates - Kidambi Srikanth won Indonesia Badminton Championship on June 18, 2017. He out-classed 47th ranked Kazumasa Sakai by 21-11, 21-19 in 37 mins to lift the Super Series title, making it his 3rd one. Srikanth was trailing behind by 6-11 points but then bounced back to make it equal by 13-13 and thats what put the pressure on Sakai, ultimately loosing match to Srikanth. Srikanth has won $75000 has prize money in tournament, also Badminton Association of India announced reward of Rs 5 Lakhs to Srikanth. HS Prannoy had lost to Kazumasa Sakai in semi-finals of Indonesia open, else it would have been an Indian vs Indian match in finals of Indonesia Open. Basic Rules of Badminton | India At Olympics Badminton can be played in Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles category. Singles where 2 players play the match, doubles where a pair of players play with other pair meaning 2 men play against 2 men or 2 women play against 2 women. Mixed Doubles, meaning 1 man and 1 woman play against 1 man and 1 woman. Before any match start, coin is tossed to decide who will serve first in first game and in subsequent games winner of previous game serves first. Badminton court is like what is shown here. Players stand in right service court when his/her score is even and in left side when score is odd. For Singles match, shuttle should not fall out of 'Side line for Singles' and for Doubles match, out of 'Side Line for Doubles' as marked in below picture. Currently standing at no 15 in world men ranking!! Prime Minister Narendra Modi Congratulated him for his achievements! Sai Praneeth has suffered loss in 1st round of Indonesia Open loosing out by  21-13, 21-18. Think of US and images that will flash in your mind will be of Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, Washington DC, Hollywood and Niagara falls.. places all tourists want to visit and all of these, are on the East Coast of US except Hollywood. Thanks to my company deputation i was on the west coast, famous names on this coast are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple. I am sure you will be hardly interested in visiting these ones like me.. And even if you are, entry is not that easy. These are the most talented places on earth and you need to be wonder kid to go there. As i was not the one... i decided to visit the east coast like the rest of cattle class. Rohan Bopanna wins French Open Grand Slam, creating history for Indian Tennis!! Tennis: French Open Tennis Championship 8/6/2017 would be marked as historic day for Indian Tennis as Rohan Bopanna became the 4th Indian to win grand slam trophy. French open is the premier clay court tournament and is considered among the four most prestigious tournaments in the world. Before Rohan, its the legend Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza who have got the prestigious title.  Rohan participated in mixed doubles with Canadian partner G Dabrowski, beating India's own Sania Mirza in Quarter Finals to reach semis.
